Wine therapy: the favorite child in New York spas

New York women are going crazy over wine these days. No, it is not what you are thinking. This frenzy is due to wine therapy, the new beauty sensation in the New York’s spas to preserve skin beauty with products made out of wine.

Wine is great for skin because it contains antioxidants, and as we know, antioxidants are just what we need to prevent aging, since it helps you feel good in the inside as the outside.

When you come to a spa for wine therapy the first thing you will experience is a wine face pack. Red wine is good for your hair and white wine is for clearing skin and make it glow.

The latter makes all ladies jump into a white wine bath to extend the effects of their wine treatment. At the end of the session, most clients take home wine creams made of the skin and seeds of grapes grapevine leaves extract.

Wine therapy was born in France in the late 90’s and nowadays it is famous all around the world.

4 gold rules to prevent skin aging

Better than surgery, Botox or any other treatment natural skin care from early age can do the job greatly. It does require dedication and perseverance, but results make it all worthy.
Here, 4 rules to take care of your skin by natural means:

  1. Eat well: by this we mean eating food rich in antioxidants, vitamins C and E as berries, blueberries, strawberries. It is also important to eat food with omega 3 as fish (tuna, sardines, salmon, halibut, etc.) flaxseed and walnuts.

  2. Drink a lot of water: you might have heard about drinking 8 glasses of water a day. But why is that? Because it helps cleansing and moisturizing your skin, removes toxins, increases energy and concentration, and aids with digestion and weight loss.

Wash your face in the morning and evening to keep it healthy and glowing with a neutral ph soap or cleanser, free of alcohol and drying components.

  3. Moisturize often: apply moisturizing products twice a day on your face and neck, especially around the eyes and mouth. As skin grows old it looses elasticity and wrinkles start appearing.

Look for products with special anti-aging ingredients such as vitamins A, C and E, retinol, peptides, coenzyme Q10, alpha hydroxy acids and EGCG (also found in green tea). In addition to this, exfoliate your skin with a scrub, this gets rid of dead skin cells and leaves your skin younger and softer.

  4. Protect your skin against the sun: excessive sun exposure causes dryness, spots and wrinkles, and in worse cases, skin cancer. Even in winter UV rays can affect your skin; therefore it is necessary you sue moisturizer, sunscreen and products containing SPF 15 or higher. In summer, it’s preferable you wear sunglasses and a hat.
